Recently I had the pleasure of working with Baltimore’s best wedding planner and wedding designer Stephanie Bradshaw. Stephanie is one of my favorite planners and fashion stylists and it was an honor working with her. Stephanie really knows Baltimore and how to get the very best from the wedding vendors she works with. For a Baltimore bride or wedding photographer, her style and organization are truly appreciated. I just received this kind note from her and just had to share.

I can’t tell you how much I adore this charming Long Island wedding at The Old Field Club. Sarah and Randy finish each other’s sentences (I counted 4 times,) and seem to know exactly what the other is thinking and feeling at every moment. Randy is a top cop and most of his groomsmen are Navy Seals and some of New York’s finest law enforcement officers. Truly the best of the best. But what a relaxed and funny group of guys! Their antics kept me and my assistants laughing all day. Sarah was such a joy to work with, she was just cool …

In this day of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the myriad of social media outlets, fewer and fewer people are choosing the magic and the staying power of printed media. I think that’s a shame. These digital resources have their place and have made “sharing” of images easy and efficient, but when it comes to one of your life’s most defining moments, there’s no substitute for a beautifully framed print, or an artfully executed wedding or event album. Framed prints and wedding albums are still the best way to share such a special day. Think about it, how often will people …

NYC movers and shakers Kate & Rick wanted their black tie Newport destination wedding weekend to allow them and their guests a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of New York City for the classic beauty and tranquility of Newport’s premiere wedding venue, The Castle Hill Inn. This was my first time shooting a destination wedding at The Castle Hill Inn, and it’s always inspiring to work in new places. The couple planned an outdoor service on the inn’s lush lawn overlooking the water, with the reception and dinner taking place under the venue’s beautiful beige tent, but rainy skies …

I was in Cannes shooting for Intersection Magazine during the glitzy Cannes Film Festival. Photographer and Bruce Weber’s documentary film “Let’s get Lost” was featured in the festival and so the legendary photographer was there promoting the film. Now you have to understand, one of my earliest photographic influences was photographer and director Bruce Weber. I instantly fell in love with Bruce’s optimistic and romantic vision of American lifestyle and the athletic body. Needless to say, I was excited! Weber finished his interview with the magazine’s editor, then casually walked over to me and said, “So you’re the photographer?” I’m not sure if …

Nothing says Hollywood glamour like a black tie wedding and private dinner for 60 in your gorgeous hillside Los Angeles home, followed by a wicked after party in the Chateau Marmont’s best suite, Room 64. Meghan & Marc’s beautiful 60’s era architectural home was the venue for this intimate and warm Los Angeles black tie wedding. Wedding planner to the stars Michael Habicht from Affairs By Michael replaced Meghan and Marc’s furniture with rows of long elegant candle-lit banquet tables with the couple’s table 1 on their terrace overlooking the city below. Using old books, urns, various neo-classic antiquities and curiosities Michael created a …

Wedding Photography Shot List: Getting Ready As your wedding day approaches it’s a good idea to begin considering your wedding photography shot list. If you’re working with an experienced wedding photographer he or she already has a pretty good idea of the shots you’re going to want, but clear communication between the bride and her photographer and videographer is always highly recommended. A wedding photography shot list you can email to your photographer in advance of the wedding is the way to go. Some of my clients request special set up shots, like a a recent New York City wedding client who …

Top 10 Reasons To Have A Black Tie Wedding Recently a bride asked me if I thought she should go with a black tie dress code for her New York City summer wedding. I didn’t even hesitate. Yes. In my opinion, black tie events consistently look more chic, stylish, sophisticated and timeless in photographs than weddings with no dress code. There are certain exceptions of course, such as destination weddings and weddings in hot climates where a loose and relaxed summer dress code is just more comfortable and appropriate. Recently I shot a destination wedding in Acapulco during their rainy season (June) …

We had a lot of fun at this Loeb Boathouse Wedding! Childhood sweethearts, Karen and Matt finally decided to make it official with a November black tie wedding at one of New York City’s best venues, Central Park’s Loeb Boathouse. Many of Karen’s family flew in from Peru for their New York City Wedding and I can promise you, with certainty, the Peruvians know how to party! Add Peru to my bucket list. The ceremony at the beautiful Loeb Boathouse was an exercise in elegance and the dancing that followed was pushed to it’s absolute limit by the driving beats and …
